Bostik A990 Premium Acrylic Sealant 310ml
The Bostik A990 Premium Acrylic Sealant is a high-quality, phthalate-free acrylic sealant that is safe and versatile for use in and around the home. The sealant adheres effortlessly without primer, even on slightly damp surfaces, and is excellently paintable with both water-based and synthetic paints.
Thanks to the absence of phthalates – substances commonly used as plasticizers but which can be harmful upon repeated exposure – this sealant is a healthier choice.
During application, it is important to maintain the correct ratio between joint width and depth for a durable result. The minimum joint size is 5 x 5 mm. For wider joints, the formula is: width ÷ 3 + 6 mm = depth.
The substrate must always be clean, firm, dust- and grease-free. For highly absorbent substrates such as aerated concrete or limestone, priming with a mixture of 1 part Bostik A990 and 2 parts water is recommended. After application, the sealant can be finished with water.
The Bostik A990 is suitable for indoor use and can also be used outdoors provided it is dry during and at least 5 hours after application.
Note: The sealant is not suitable for substrates made of PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, neoprene, and bitumen, and is not resistant to permanent water exposure.
