Application
Bonding of ceramic coverings in permanently wet rooms or rooms exposed to freeze/thaw cycles, and in areas where cement mortars are not resistant or fundamentally unsuitable. Besides use in industrial acid-resistant construction, there are also several problematic substrates in private and industrial building sectors where ceramic tile coverings can certainly be bonded with Ardaflex Xtrem.
Processing
Substrate: Ardaflex Xtrem adheres excellently to concrete, exposed concrete, aerated concrete, cast asphalt, and calcium sulfate screeds. We recommend priming gypsum substrates with Ardal Grundfestiger. Gypsum plaster as a substrate must be dry and consist of one layer; iron must be free of rust and grease and, if necessary, pretreated with a suitable epoxy resin-based corrosion protection.
Coverings: Ceramic wall and floor tiles, split tiles, large format tiles. Not to be used for bonding natural stone, as discoloration cannot be excluded.
Processing: The temperature of the environment, substrate, and tiles must not fall below +15°C during bonding and must not drop below +12°C for at least 48 hours after bonding.
Mixing and pot life: Packages stored below +15°C should be warmed to about +20°C in unmixed condition (water bath, heating). If the entire content of the package is processed, the entire part B must be stirred into part A.

Ardaflex Xtrem
Ardaflex Xtrem is a high-strength, universally applicable reactive adhesive, with bonding and processing properties specifically tailored to the demands of challenging substrates. The adhesive is resistant to concrete-aggressive water according to DIN 4030, waterproof, aging-resistant, frost-resistant, and soap-resistant, and is not affected by alkalis or diluted mineral and organic acids.
Storage and Stability
Ardaflex Xtrem is not frost-sensitive and non-flammable. Packages stored below +15°C should be warmed to approximately +20°C before mixing. The unopened, original packaging has a minimum shelf life of 6 months.
